The advantage of choosing the Spring return actuator over the Double acting actuator is predominantly for safety reasons.
The spring return (which is air to open and spring to close) actuator can be set up for fail open or fail safe. This is designed so
that if you loose air pressure while the valve is in operation pumping flammable fluids the fail close set up will shut the valve
preventing a fire. The double acting actuator (air to open and air to close) is a alternative to the spring return and is used in
systems that require air pressure to open and close the valve.
